Project Prom mum sale

The seventh annual Gravette High School Project Prom mum sale will be held Friday, Oct. 1, in the parking lot at CV's Family Foods at the intersection of Highways 72 and 59. The sale will be from 8 a.m. until noon or until mums are all sold. All proceeds go to help provide a safe, drug- and alcohol-free after-prom event for GHS students.

Tudor to be Kiwanis speaker

Lorie Tudor, director of the Arkansas Department of Transportation, will be the guest speaker for the Friday, Oct. 1, meeting of the Gravette Kiwanis Club. The meeting will be held at the Gravette Civic Center, beginning at 7 a.m. Kiwanis members invite all interested persons to attend, hear director Tudor and ask any questions they might have about the Western North-South Connector Study of a highway connection in northwest Arkansas or any other Arkansas transportation issues.

Gravette plans fall cleanup

The city of Gravette will host its annual fall cleanup from Monday, Sept. 27, through Saturday, Oct. 2. Self-service dumpsters will be available Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. or until they are full. Residents will be able to use the dumpsters at no charge. They must be able to load items into the dumpsters by themselves so are encouraged to bring help for larger items. All persons using the dumpsters will be required to show proof of city residency. No tires, electronics, flammable liquids, paint or coolant are allowed. The next citywide cleanup event will take place in the spring.

Trick or Treat Main Street

Trick or Treat Main Street will take place on Saturday, Oct. 30, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Main Street in Gravette. Local businesses and organizations will line both sides of the first two blocks of Main Street and will hand out candy and treats to trick or treaters. Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event. Guests are encouraged to park in the parking spots on Highway 59 (north of Centennial Park), on Second Ave. NE and SE and at CV's Family Foods.

Gentry Trick or Treat on Main Street

Gentry's Trick or Treat on Main Street event is set for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30. Local businesses will be passing out treats to trick or treaters at the annual event sponsored by the Gentry Chamber of Commerce.

Bella Vista Area Radio Club

The Bella Vista Area Radio Club has resumed in-person meetings at a new time and venue. Meetings are at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month, at the Highlands Golf and ClubHouse, 1 Pamona Drive, off Scottsdale, near I-549. Monthly license testing is also conducted. Lions Club food drive

Members of the Gravette Lions Club conduct a food drive the first week of every other month. The next scheduled food drive will be held Nov. 1-6 and contributions of canned goods and nonperishable food items will be greatly appreciated. Collection bins will be placed at Harps Hometown Foods, CV's Family Foods and the Gravette Public Library. All foodstuff collected will be donated to an area food pantry.

First Baptist food pantry

First Baptist Church, located at 213 E. Roller Ave. in Decatur, holds a community food pantry on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Contact the church at 479-282-6658.

Senior Center art classes

Henzie's Art Studio holds art classes at the Billy V. Hall Senior Activity Center on the first Thursday of each month. The classes are held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $20 for each session with all supplies (canvas, paints, brushes) provided. Anyone interested in attending classes should sign up in advance. Gravette Farmers Market

The Gravette Farmers Market is open each Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the open-air pavilion at Old Town Park. The market offers locally-grown fresh fruits and vegetables, plants, eggs, honey, jams and jellies, baked goods, and farm-raised beef and pork. A variety of arts and crafts is also available. Members of the Old Town String Band provide musical entertainment at the market most Saturdays. Anyone wishing to reserve a booth may call market manager Beth Patton, 479-787-3313.

Gentry Public Library open

Kiwanis Club meetings

Kiwanis Club meetings are held at 7 a.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month at the Gravette Civic Center and are open to the public. Visitors are asked to wear a mask when arriving and until seated when physical distancing is not possible.

GFA food pantry drive-through

GFA Pantry Inc., located at the Gentry Assembly, 821 East Main Street in Gentry, is open every Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Clients are asked to call or text 662-727-5157 for an appointment, or email [email protected]. They will receive meat, dairy, fresh produce, canned and boxed goods, and occasionally household/cleaning products as available. Clients may park in the parking lot and go into the building to get signed in and receive their goods. Each family can come once a month. There are no restrictions based on where a client lives.
